Vinted is a great way to start selling online, get rid of unwanted items in your wardrobe and free up some space (and cash!).
The most popular items for sale in the app are adult / kids clothing, accessories and small homewares. High street brands go down well, but you can also sell designer and high end clothing using Vinted’s verification service.
Vinted reportedly has 16 million users in the UK – that’s nearly a quarter of the population so you’re bound to find a buyer for your preloved items and turn your old clothes into cash!
SELLING ON VINTED IS EASY
This is an easy one to get you started with selling online. Download the Vinted app and follow the simple steps to set yourself for selling online.
From experience, Vinted really is easy to use – upload pictures of whatever you want to sell, add a description (plus details of size / make / condition) and set your price.
Unlike ebay, it isn’t an auction – you can stick to your price or buyers can offer you a price up to 40% less (you don’t have to accept).
Buyers always pay for postage via carriers like Evri and you get paid directly from Vinted within 5 days of the buyer receiving the item.
As Vinted doesn’t charge sellers any fees, it’s a great way to clear out and get some quick cash for stuff you don’t need any more, but as money-making goes, you aren’t likely to be making a big profit selling your old clothes and it’s limited to whatever you actually have available to sell.
On the flipside, it can also be a great place to buy and save too, although buyers are charged what Vinted calls a ‘buyer protection fee’ and have to pay for postage – it can still work out much cheaper than hitting the high street or other online shopping. It’s also a great place to start if you want to buy secondhand and do your bit for the planet.
